- SCF Group widens cooperation with Russian ship builders
On 18 November 2009 SCF Group and
OAO United Shipbuilding Corporation
signed a package of agreements on cooperation,
which envisage the use of the
existing potential of Russia's shipyards
in the Far-Eastern region, as well as joint
actions aimed at marine equipment construction,
based on the newly created
capacities in the Primorsk region. The
signing ceremony took place in the town
of Bolshoy Kamen (Primorsk region).
- HiMSEN propulsion engine
As one of the largest 2 and 4 stroke diesel engine manufacturers in the world, we at Engine & Machinery Division of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI-EMD) have developed our own-designed 4 stroke engines (named HiMSEN).
- The line of bunker tankers for port and estuary operation
The article presents the scientific research results of tankers image creation for the port and raid bunkering under the Federal Program "Development of civil maritime technology for 2009-2016."

On October, 22nd, 2009 «Nevsky Shipbuilding
- Shiprepair Plant, LLC» (Schliesselburg, Leningrad
region, Russia) launched the head vessel
- bunker-tanker for coastal trade. The name of the
vessel – «OSLO-TANK» (yard number 601).
- Main propulsion unit integrated remote automated control system
NGO "AMT" provides development and delivery automated control system for new and modernized vessels.

- Norilsk Nickel expands its river fleet with Russia
17 September 2009 the tug boat built
for OJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel was commissioned in the town of Bor (Nizhny
Novgorod region) and the Russian flag
was raised on the river tug.

Safety and Marine Environment Protection: Prospects We Face

- «Radomir» will operate in Ust-Luga
The naming ceremony for a new tug ordered by Sovcomflot
(SCF) Group took place at the Leningrad Shipbuilding Yard
“Pella” on 15 October 2009. The delivery of this vessel is part
of the Group’s strategy to develop its terminals management
business, by providing port, salvage and environmental protection
vessels.
- The new «Novoship» tanker has become the largest vessel owned by the company
The new tanker “NS Burgas” of 156.6
ths. tons deadweight became a part of
OJSC “Novoship” (the group of companies
“Sovkomflot”) fleet on October 28,
2009. It opens the series of four Suezmax
class tankers ordered with Chinese
shipbuilding yard Jiangsu Rongsheng
Heavy Industries in accordance with the
active program of fleet renewal by the
group of companies “Sovkomflot”. As
part of “Novoship” fleet “NS Burgas”
has become the largest vessel out of 55
vessels owned by the company.

- Bunkering market has decreased by a quarter
Bunker market as a mirror of the activity of a seaport was unable to avoid a crisis. In the first six months of falling sales of bunker fuel in port St. Petersburg even more than the dynamics of the fall turnover. As a result, 15 companies left the largest regional bunker market. Remaining bunkering companies yielded the palm to Russian oil majors "daughters" - Gazprom Neft and LUKoil.

opened a Service Centre in Murmansk,

Centre demonstrates Wärtsilä’s commitment
to expand in line with the increasing
marine activity in the Barents Sea region.
To emphasise the importance of cooperation,
Wärtsilä’s CEO and President,
Ole Johansson and the Governor of the
Murmansk Oblast region of Russia, Dmitry
Vladimirovich Dmitrienko, jointly signed a
document of goodwill.
- LUKOIL has completed construction of the offshore loading unit
